Weekend Playlist

Not to much to say today. It's Friday, so enjoy it.

My new boss…

Albert Hammond Jr - GFC
-I was telling Nolan a couple of weeks ago how in love with this track I am…the feelings haven’t subsided. The only thing on my “To Do” list this weekend is: Buy Albert Hammond Jr. disc.

Ting Tings - Thats Not My Name
-Linds LOOOVES this song. It’s fun and cute, just like her…so I could see why she’d like it… Awww, I know…

The Henry Clay People - Working Part Time
-I’m surprised I like this song, seeing as normally the “not really singing just kinda talking to the music” singers bug me. I hear a little bit of Arcade Fire mixed with The Strokes (it’s a stretch but you can hear it) in the music, so I think that is what is keeping me into it.

Fun with video! (actually this track is just so old, no one has the mp3 of it)

Tuesday Tunage...

New job + wrapping up at old job + vacations = not a lot of posts lately…My Bad. Hopefully my train rides to/from work will allow me to go berserk posting new tracks.

Metric - Combat Baby
- I rocked this track a lot on the beach this summer… I guess I just never got around to posting it up on SL36. It’s got a killer summer vibe. Please rock it repeatedly for your remaining days at the pool.

New Tunes!

So sorry for the lack of posts lately...between Turks and getting ready for the new job, I havent been able to really dig around for new tunes. Team Robertson is currently in Galveston so I finally have time to post some tunes. Stay tuned over the next couple of days for some new tracks...

New Tunes...

El Guincho - Antillas
- You are either going to love this track or utterly hate it. It’s lots and lots of loops of repetitive noise…sounds fun huh. Seriously though, I’d recommend El Guincho to anyone who likes noise bands like Animal Collective, Panda Bear, and No Age. Also the dude is Spanish, so his music has a worldly feel to it too…fans of Manu Chao and even TV on the Radio will probably enjoy it as well. It’s a fun listen regardless if you love it or not.

Moving Unit - Between Us and Them
- This is one of those “new to me” kind of tracks, as it is off of Moving Unit’s debut disc from way back in 2004. Between Us and Them has punkish vibe mixed with a healthy dose of disco-esque drumming…and a little bit of LA Glam. Think the older Killers. The only bad thing about it is that bums me out that I’m sitting at my desk…and not out running. I feel like I could run for days when tracks like this start blaring in my shuffle.
