MP3: Be Your Own Pet - The Kelly Affair
The Kelly Affair has a kinda surfer punk vibe with a catchy repetitive chorus, which will probably remind listeners of the Go-Go’s...but on speed. I’m normally not a fan of girl lead singers in bands, much less punk rock bands - sorry ladies, it always just comes off kinda flat - but BYOP sounds like the real deal. So real in fact, Universal removed 3 tracks from their March 18th release, Get Awkward, because they were deemed “too violent to be released.”

WTF? Does she cover Cop Killers or something? Regardless...I’m frightened, and strangely turned-on all at the same time…
MP3: Dengue Fever - Seeing Hands
Fans of Thievery Corp are going to love this band. Dengue Fever is based out of LA, and their Cambodian-pop mixed with a psych-rock is definitely not your typical Cali-Indie band…but I dig it. I cant speak for the quality of the entire album, but judging by this track it sounds like it would be a chill disc.
