New tracks...

I'm currently on day 6 of not shaving, and this whole having a beard thing is strange. I think I just look more "dirty," than "cool." Funny thing is, I dont really have a good reason why I'm growing it, except for the fact that I can check it off of my list of things to do before I die. Yes, even my "list of things to do before I die" is nerdy...

Enjoy the tunes!

Peter Bjorn & John - Nothing To Worry About
You know that you are in good company when Kanye has the exclusive leak of your new single… I know that Young Folks got way played out in 2007, but that PB&J album was one of my favorites that year. Needless to say, I’m looking forward to this new disc a lot.

School of Seven Bells - Connjur
Here’s a fun, little ambient track to start your Friday off right. I love with versatility like this…it is the perfect song to just close your eyes to and drift away OR you could very easily pop it on for your drive to the bars tonight. Enjoy its versatility.

Finally...something worth listening to...

Hey Guys...sorry for the lack of posts in the last month or so. This whole "getting ready to be a dad thing" takes a lot out of you. Haha.
To be honest, I havent really been inspired by any new tunes lately, so I havent had the calling to get online and share. Luckily though, the new year is here and I've collected some good "new" music in recent weeks. Hopefully I'll get back in the habit of posting new tracks every so often. Besides, I gotta keep Ben up to date on what's new to make sure that he can school the other kiddos in the nursery on all things music. Ya, "huge nerd" I know....

In case you forgot just right click and save as. Violla, new tunes on your iPod.
-I picked up this disc a couple weeks back with my xmas iTunes gc. It is one of those cd's that grows on you. I distinctly remember telling Nolan how I streamed this disc when it first came out in january...and hated it. Oh well, things change and now I like it. You will too.

The Welcome Wagon - Half A Person (Smiths Cover)
-Sufjan produced this album and it is a Smiths cover...ya, that's really all you need to know. If at anypoint during that last sentance you said to yourself "who?" We can no longer be friends. It's nothing personal, it's just...just...seriously?

Stars - Ageless Beauty (The Most Serene Republic Mix)
-Old Stars track from like 2005, and it's awesomeness hasnt faded. Easily the best "how did i miss this?" track of the week. Trust me...it is really, really good.

EOD Tracks...

Have I ever mentioned how much I hate work place abreviations? Seriously, they make me mental. EOD, COB, ETA, ASAP, and WAYAPOTICIOW...Why are you always playing on the internet Casey, instead of working?)

Anyways, this song makes me happy, and I hope it does the same for you. Enjoy.

ACL Tracks

This year, the ACL festival gods must have really liked me, because I came home with a fun parting gift...some sort of dirty hippie upper respitory infection. Ya, it sucks.
Speaking of ACL, here are a couple of tracks that came up in conversation this weekend. Both tracks kick ass, so...you're welcome!
This new Ben Folds track might be the catchiest song ever. What can I say the dude can write a killer song. I was telling Nolan, that I was going through my iTunes the other day and was shocked by how many Ben Folds albums I have...I think I have all but 1. He's the kinda dude that creeps up on you like that...Ben Folds, not Nolan.
This is the "new" track that VW played on Friday. I really like that these literally only know enough songs to play for exactly 1 hour. Normally something that would annoy me, but with these dudes, I just find it comedy.

Little Rude Boy

If you haven’t heard already, Team Robertson found out on Tuesday that our newest member will be competing in the Boys 13 and under age group.

So now that we know the sex of the baby, we can actually start doing the fun stuff like buying toys/clothes/nursery stuff/etc. Below, you will find pics of a couple of things I've found so far that will soon be in little tiny drawers of the soon to be baby room…and of course, with a couple of tracks to go with said products.

#1 - The Specials - A Message To You, Rudy

#2 - White Stripes - Hello Operator

Tunes

Kanye - Lovelockeddown (studio)
Seriously, what can this dude NOT do? Just as soon as you think you figure him out, he flips his style up. MTV says, “Fine, you can close the VMAs.” So obviously you expect something huge off of the Glow in the Dark tour, full of big beats, bright lights, guest artists, etc...it’s Kanye, so you think it’s going to be big. So what does he do…2 weeks before the show, he writes a new song where he doesn’t even rap…just sings. Balls…man…balls...

Bonus Track: The Kooks - Kids (MGMT cover)

Since this is Kanye-centric blog entry today…I stole this vid from his blog…
Tom Vec - "CC (You Set The Fire in ME)"

Afternoon Dee-lite!

Santogold - Creator
This song pretty much just rules. If you don’t like it…there is something wrong with you.

Okkervil River - Plus Ones
This is one of those tracks that the lyrics really just make the whole thing work. “No one wants a tune about the one-hundredth luftballoon…”

Vampire Weekend - Everywhere [Pretty Much Amazing]
These dudes can do no wrong. This is the 3rd or 4th cover I’ve heard from them, and everyone of them is spot on. Covers are tough to genuinely pull off, especially covers from really good bands like Fleetwood Mac. VW has the formula right and I’m enjoying the results.

Afternoon Dee-lite!

Jaguar Love - Highway of Gold
-I hate and love this song all at the same time. I’m complicated.

Pharrell - MyDriveThru
-Everyone has heard this song. There really is nothing not to like about it…it’s fun, upbeat, and catchy. I posted it mearly so I could download it later for my running playlist.

Team Robertson Increases Its Ranks by 1...

I guess we can finally tell everyone now...Linds is pregos.

I know, I know. It's a strang thing. 10 years ago, the idea of "getting a chick pregnant" would've made me throw up. Now it's exciting. Getting old is weird.

Anyways, the 13wk little one growing in Linds belly is doing tremendously well...and Linds is doing kick ass also. This baby already has 1 triathlon under its belt, so he/she is going to in tip top shape when Linds pops him/her out on Feb 21st. Just in time to start training for 2009 Summer Tri's.

Ben Kweller - Ice Ice Baby
Belle & Sebastian - Step into my office, baby

Hello Goodbye - Baby, It's a fact (live)
